The Home Studio

This is the 1st installment of our new blog series: The Home Studio

Technology has made it possible for average artists to produce music that is comparable to the big stars. Thus, we see an explosion of DIY artists emerging, we see many artist taking on the task of producing, writing, mixing and mastering their own music. I am one of these artists and I wanted to share some knowledge with you on getting better at making music in any of the areas I previously mentioned. I have grown tremendously and deepened my knowledge and skill on music by reading, watching instructional videos and practicing (strongest emphasis should be on practicing).

If you have a home or bedroom studio, you have a major advantage over artists from the past that had to pay for expensive studio sessions and engineers, and nothing can replace the super engineers and producers, but your dedication and passion coupled with daily work in your home studio can start the process that helps you to become a super producer or engineer. I’d like to see pictures of your studio setup, there’s no need to be embarrassed by how modest it is, it only matters that you’ve started because where you start is not where you’ll finish.
